Rancier
Farms is a fourth generation
farming operation
established in 1905.
The farm consists of a mixed
grain
operation and a black based
cow herd consisting of 60
black purebred and
percentage Simmental cows.
We have been raising
purebred Simmental cattle
since 2001 and through an
extensive embryo transplant
program our numbers are
steadily increasing.
This embryo transplant
program has also enabled us
to put together a herd of
closely related females that
consistently produce
offspring that are widely
accepted in both the
purebred and commercial
sectors of the beef
industry.
Cow
families
are very important to us and
we are highly selective,
emphasizing structurally
sound, easy fleshing, females
with lots of volume and
longevity. We are also very aware of the important
economic traits like calving
ease,
early growth
and feed efficiency. We
believe these traits as well
as predictability and
consistency are
all keys to
a profitable cow herd.
Rancier Farms uses the show
ring as a marketing tool and
enjoys exhibiting cattle at
many of the major shows in
Canada. Bulls, females,
semen
and embryos are always available privately on the
farm and some elite bulls
and
females are consigned to
select sales each fall.
Visitors are always
welcome on the farm
and we would love to
show you through our
cow herd and bull
pen!
